Best time to visit: between March and November
Climate: generally hot in the summer (October to April)
(Remember that seasons are the opposite to Europe).
Clothing: it is advisable to dress in layers of light clothing during the day with warm jackets and jersey for winter evenings (from May to September) and early morning game viewing activities.
Vital accessories: sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, hat, protecting walking shoes, spare batteries. (batteries can be charged at the camp however, supplied by clean solar panel energy).
Medical Precautions

Malaria:
Northern Botswana has endemic malarial areas prevalent during the warm rainy season, between November and June.
Use insect repellent at all times.
Wear long sleeves, long trousers, sleep under a mosquito net.
Please ask your physician for any additional information regarding prevention and health care.

Snakes:
The bush is home to 60 snake species of which 12 are venomous.
A simple and effective precaution is to wear socks and long trousers with boots to protect the lower legs and feet.

HIV and AIDS:
Like many developing countries today, Botswana population suffers from a high rate of HIV infection. Tourists are warned to take standard precautions.

Sun Protection:
Use sun protection creams.
Consume at least 3 litres of mineral water per day and avoid lengthy exposure to the sun.
